Photoshoot Reflection
The Photoshoot section of my research and planning allowed me to record the organisation and progression of my final photoshoot. The section shows my development through the pre-production of my images and my ideas leading up to it to it and the photoshoot its self. The section was helpful as it allowed me to organise my photoshoot with my model and the studio and reflect on my images which I had planned previously in the section.

Time Management Reflection
The time management section was important for practical reasons. The section allowed me to record the progress of my work whist also setting targets for myself to achieve on a monthly basis through the calendar. The section meant there was a recording of my progress through the planning, production and eventual evaluation stages of my work.
Similar Product Reflections
Similar products was a section similar to the inspirations. The section explored products which were similar to my own as well as institutions which could potentially promote my brand. Within there are a lot of magazine comparisons which allowed me to form my ideas based on already existing and successful products, creating something with inspirations based on other products but also developing on those conventions to create my own unique products which could compete against these.
Potential Target Audience Reflection
The potential target audience section of my planning was one of the most important sections. The section was an exploration and insight into who my target audience was and what they wanted from a regional product. Without this section and the explorations within I would of been unable to complete and create a successful media product with a specific target audience in mind. It involves a number of surveys and interviews direct with my audience, finding out exactly what they wanted from a regional product so that I would tailor my work towards the appropriate audience.
Other Images
Here I have gone through some of the images which featured in my media product, those which were not directly taken as part of my advanced portfolio but which I decided to feature as they were relevant to my genres, product and regional aspect.
Inspirations Reflection
Doing the inspirations section of my research and planning was an opportunity for me to explore different options I could use when creating my product. The section allowed me to discover the variables about regional magazines/products and magazines/media products in general. It is also an exploration of the progression of my magazine. Within the section you can see my exploration into different sections of my ancillary and main task, it is a recording of my inspirations and progression as I created my products.
Flat Plans & Rationals Reflection
Doing the flat plans and rationales section was almost like creating a guide for myself in which I was meant to follow. The flat plans gave me a literal shape to follow whilst the rational was a more in depth deconstruction which I would follow.
Deconstruction Reflection
The deconstruction section of my Research and Planning allowed me to discover more in terms of conventions of regional magazines and the differences that arise between that and national. The section gave me more of an insight into what sort of features should be implemented into my work and which should not, based on magazine types, audiences and regionalism or nationalism.

Magazine Article
The Baltic. Undeniably, it is one of the North Easts biggest
galleries and home to hugely popular displays. None more so than their new
Graphic illustration display. Lasting from October 20th until December 20th
2016.
The display combines photography, models and landscape, and
mixes them with a digital art look. The contemporary look is hugely
anticipated, particularly as the work was all created by northern artists. The
display manages to capture a sharp contrast between the old and the new, the
modern look applied in the post processing stages. Interestingly, the gallery
has released both the before and after images, meaning that each piece is
presented in threes. The photograph. The edits to be overlaid. The final image.
The presentation provides the audiences with an insight into the different
stages that an artist goes through when creating, something we as audiences
often don’t get to see or appreciate.
As well as the
Graphic Illustration, the gallery has unveiled a multitude of other displays,
focusing again on a mix of different photography styles. According to their
website (www.baltic.com) their new galleries “are quite unlike anything we have
previously had on display. This new contemporary style encapsulates the modern
era and represents a new stage in our development as a gallery. We wanted to
provide a display which would appeal to both old and young, regardless
of their gender, nationality, background or sexuality. We
feel we have successfully implemented this into our displays and we are
incredibly proud to host these regional pieces.”
We had an exclusive look prior to the opening on the display
and it is safe to say the display gave us butterflies...
Although the work is fairly new, a dispute over the style of
it has already arisen. Many people believe the work has hints of pop art whilst
others argue it is clearly graphic illustration. Some say the work is a whole
new style. What are your thoughts? Let us know your thoughts on their other new
displays too!

Evaluation 2 - How effective is the combination of your main products and ancillary texts?
Within this evaluation I have looked at the way in which my media products (magazine and ancillary tasks) work together to provide a single brand. I have identified conventions used and how my products interlink with each other. Overall, post evaluation 2, I feel I have successfully created a series of products which are to a professional standard and work together as a single unit of work but also as individual pieces. I am confident that my products support each other.
Evaluation 1 - In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Here I have evaluated the conventions I have used and subverted throughout each of my individual products, looking at what and why I used or subverted each convention. The conventions of my magazine mixed between common and uncommon although I think, as identified, I managed to successfully create a professional and marketable media product with ancillary tasks to accompany it.
Throughout the video I have put text and images which look at pre-existing products comparison to my own.
Reader Profile
Here I have identified some potential readers of my product. I have looked at what they find interesting and their age groups, allowing me to learn the interests of a similar age group in order to refine my ideas. I have learned that the age group generally like creative and free/cheap things such as Arts, Music, Film and Fashion.

Final Focus Group
Here I have created a final focus group within my work. My audiences had issues some feedback on positives and negatives. I have also received some written feedback for those who did not want to appear on audio.
Based on this feedback and comments I feel I have managed to successfully create a distinguishable and professional media product with the ability to compete in a real world market. I feel the work is indicative of professionalism and it has a specific target audience.

My Products VS Similar Products
Here I have looked at my product VS a pre-existing product. I have I identified some of the convention that I have followed that are similar or different to the already existing professional product and looked at why. Doing this helped me to determine the level of professionalism I have achieved with my products in comparison to those which already exist. I feel I have successfully created products which are at a level of professionalism equal to that of the comparing products.
